Finding a job teaching English

If you’re thinking of teaching English abroad, you can learn most of what you need to know by visiting a couple websites:

By visiting these websites, you’ll quickly learn what types of positions you’re qualified for.

Latin America, Africa, Indonesia, Eastern Europe – university degree required. Expect pay to cover in-country living expenses. Slightly better pay if you have TEFL certificate or teaching experience.

Western Europe – need to have EU passport for most jobs. exception for some summer jobs

Japan, Korea, China – best paying jobs for those with university degree and TEFL certificate

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman – for those with Master’s degree and 3 years teaching experience, best pay & benefits.

The best overview is at the Bridge Linguatec website (this is where you can also earn your CELTA TEFL certificate in Denver). This page compares opportunities, pay and expenses in 30 countries. It’s a great starting point.

  1. I just bought a new computer and would like the same settings I have on my other computer. How do I go about doing this? The one thing I want to change in firefox on my new computer is when I type a website in the address bar I would like it to show my history instead of my bookmarks. I changed it before but I can’t remember what I did..
