Poem: A Small Trophy

Instead of just thinking about it,
When I actually…

Do the dishes
Take out the recycling
Fold the laundry
Sweep the floor
Balance my checkbook
Call during business hours
Make a salad

When I complete any one of these
When I meet the challenge
And triumph
A small trophy will do

When I get the baby to sleep
A slightly bigger one
A high five
A quiet round of applause
And a foot massage
Would be fine, thanks!
