Poem: Nothing Special

2013-10-10 Near Yoder Colorado DSC03181

Miles and miles of nothing special
Makes me feel
Like something special

Miles and miles of plains
Makes me feel
Anything but plain

About the poem:

A field trip to Eastern Colorado yesterday put me smack dab in the middle of a space devoid of what I’m usually surrounded by. No towns, no mountains, no stores, and very few people. Against this backdrop of hay rolls and wide open spaces, it left me with a very calm feeling that indeed, each of us are something special.

Our host kidded, don’t run the stop lights on your way out of town. There are also no stop lights for miles and miles.

About the author, Joan Gregerson:
In our daily lives, finding peace in whatever we are doing is a skill we can develop. Once we do, all of life is a joy. FInd out more in my books on Amazon and Kindle.
