Doing too much
Being too little
About the poem:
I used to think that when I was rushed, exhausted, flustered that it was someone else’ fault and there was likely to be heck to pay. Just in that I was going to be a bee-atch for the entire day.
Now, I think how I treat you is within my control. Doing a good job of that is my mission (though I often fall short of my goals). Taking this approach, makes things like sleep, proper nutrition, exercise, quiet time, nature time, organizing, etc so valuable because I can see the direct impact of them on my behavior.
Often, taking care of myself happens when I cut back on the amount of stuff I try to do. I carve out more time for those things that help me be a teeny bit kinder.
