Poem: Change of Plans

Our appointment
You can’t make it?
Our plan
You’ve got to break it?
No worry
Let me pause
No hurry
Let me listen
If I close my eyes
Fairy dust will glisten
Alighting my next move
I can easily slide
Into a new groove
Change of plans?
No worry
Go do your thing
And I’ll do mine
See you another time soon
Dear friend

About the poem:
In my best and easiest relationships, we can change our plans as we need to. It’s so much easier this way. Neither feels they MUST do something they really don’t want to do, knowing the other won’t be crushed with disappointment. It will be fine!

When plans change, I think “Oooh!”, this opens up so many opportunities! What should I do? Yummy possibilities await! Today, I switched from Yoga to Zumba, on just such a whim!

    • That’s a good point. If you have a friend that always cancels, you might have to reevaluate that relationship. But once in awhile, it’s nice to be able to cancel knowing it will all work out okay!
